A muted palette of soft slate blue, marble and black help create a kitchen that's both the perfect blend of classic and contemporary - streamlined, chic and completely unique.
This super busy family of five (and all the teenager's friends!) needed a major kitchen update - the brief: functional but still fabulous. The client was keen to experiment with colour, but still wanted a chic, classic finish.
The design team at Bella Kitchens worked within the original foot print of the kitchen, stealing a bit of extra space from a hallway cupboard to create a much needed bigger pantry. Careful planning keeps this kitchen looking sleek and clutter-free, with plenty of storage and a place for everything.
The graphic wallpaper in the adjacent dining room provided the colour inspiration - Karen Walker's Clouded Blue being the perfect soft slate grey for the main cabinetry. The darker cabinetry is balanced with classic stone bench-top and marble splash-back - the prefect combination of contrasting materials.
The finishes have all been kept soft - a barely there sheen to the lacquer, a honed stone bench-top and a honed finish to the chevron marble splash-back. Black accents are kept understated and again matt - with a black sink and tap, and custom finished black handles.
Milky white walls keep the room bright and new light oak laminate floor provides a warm, neutral base.
The new kitchen is definitely super functional, but also stylishly fabulous. The perfect blend of classic and contemporary - streamlined, chic and completely unique.
